Baltech AG and Xelaned are two companies that rely on digitalization in their business model. In an interview with the two company founders, they talk about what makes their companies special, how they use digitalization to their advantage and what their greatest success in business is.    <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the basic idea behind your company?  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dennis Woicke, Managing Director and founder of Xelaned: &#8220;We are a pure consulting company. Our day-to-day business is classic infrastructure consulting, where we primarily rely on solutions from Microsoft. <\/p>\n<p>J\u00fcrgen R\u00f6sch, CEO and founder of Baltech AG: &#8220;Whether parking garage, gym or canteen &#8211; contactless or contactless smartcards are simply part of everyday life today. But a card alone does nothing, you also need a suitable reader. And this is where we come in. We focus on the development of innovative smart card and RFID read\/write modules and systems.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>Where does digitalization come into play?  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dennis Woicke: We want to be the strategic partner when it comes to optimizing business processes. We provide support in the design and implementation of complex infrastructure projects, for example in the system environment of Exchange, Sharepoint, collaboration software through to their use in the cloud. But project management as well as service provider and supplier management are also part of our core business.  <\/p>\n<p>J\u00fcrgen R\u00f6sch: Whether hardware or firmware &#8211; the technology was initially used in automation technology for many decades. At the beginning of the 1990s, a technological leap made it possible to use the technology for commercial applications, for example in local public transport. We saw a new market here and seized the opportunity.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>In which areas is your technology used?  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dennis Woicke: Xelaned&#8217;s customer list includes a Who&#8217;s Who of major German companies, and the sector is a minor matter. Whether automotive, insurance, chemicals or telecommunications &#8211; wherever the optimum IT infrastructure is required, our consultants provide on-site support. <\/p>\n<p>J\u00fcrgen R\u00f6sch: Our readers are primarily used in the HR environment. Mainly in the area of access control, for example as employee identification or in parking garage systems, for recording working hours, but also in cashless payment transactions, for example in the canteen. Our technology is also used in the tourism industry. For example, it is used in many spa and guest cards, such as the Allg\u00e4u-Walser Card, and enables hosts and tourism service providers in the region to offer attractive, state-of-the-art services to vacation guests.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you personally consider to be your greatest success in business?  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dennis Woicke: An employee once described me with the words: &#8216;A boss who doesn&#8217;t demand this designation, but accepts it. For me, the focus is on the employees and the team. I don&#8217;t like long distances or rigid hierarchies.
