Hallbergmoos is located on the outskirts of Munich, in the north of the state capital and in the middle of the European metropolitan region of Munich – one of the most efficient economic regions in Europe. Around 344,000 companies are active in the metropolitan region, from global corporations to specialized SMEs, and together they generate a gross domestic product of around 370 billion euros annually. What began in 1829, when Karl Theodor Freiherr von Hallberg-Broich drained the moss against all conventions and founded a colony in the Erdinger Moor, continues to this day.
