70 years of VfB Hallbergmoos-Goldach e.V.: Sport and fun for everyone

In 2020, VfB Hallbergmoos and the soccer department celebrated their 70th anniversary. The history of VfB Hallbergmoos began in 1950 with a small soccer club and a green field. Over the years, more and more different departments were added. Whether bowling, curling or table tennis: today the sports club offers over 20 different sports and has over 2,200 members.

“Sport moves you” is the guiding principle of VfB Hallbergmoos. “We stand for a sense of community and team spirit,” says Anna Klug, 2nd board member of VfB Hallbergmoos. “It is important to the club to offer a wide range of activities for all age groups, where everyone feels well looked after and has fun – whether they are top athletes or beginners.” This motto is also the cornerstone for numerous achievements: “The biggest successes in recent years include the promotion of the soccer team to the national league, the promotion of the bowlers to the 2nd national league and the promotion of the women’s curling team on ice to the 1st national league, including world champion Franziska Dücker,” explains Anna Klug. VfB Hallbergmoos is also particularly proud of the wide range of high-quality activities on offer, the large number of departments and members and the good work with the children.

For the little ones

The early bird gets the worm: the little sports enthusiasts in the community have of course been thought of. Children’s tennis, bambini soccer and volleyball, youth bowling, children’s gymnastics and apparatus gymnastics or parent-child gymnastics. Children up to the age of majority have the opportunity to let off steam in several departments without a financial surcharge for membership. Young people, adults and parents also have the opportunity to become an instructor. The prerequisites for this are, on the one hand, motivation and enjoyment of working with children and young people. On the other hand, an instructor’s license is required. The staff at VfB Hallbergmoos will be happy to provide information on the latter.

For teenagers and adults

For nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts, there is a wide range of cycling and e-bike offers as well as skiing and hiking tours, which are mainly designed for young people and adults. Experienced cyclists, on the other hand, have the opportunity to join the racing bike team, which has already achieved several successes. Those who mainly want to burn off energy are probably best suited to a particularly unusual sport: Jumping. It’s all about coordination, endurance and, of course, fun. Led by an instructor, adults can work up a sweat on a trampoline to groovy music. VfB Hallbergmoos also offers several team sports, such as volleyball and tennis, as well as individual sports, including fitness.

For the life-experienced

For senior citizens, the Fitness Forum offers twice-weekly sports sessions designed to promote and maintain mobility and safety. Men who are especially enthusiastic about soccer and experienced in life can join the AH team (Alte Herren) from the age of 32. There is no upper age limit. The Stockschützen senior citizens’ afternoon with small tournaments followed by coffee and cake, which takes place every Thursday afternoon, is also very popular.

Public events and taster sessions

From fitness and gymnastics to bowling, Pilates, table tennis and more: every year in November, the “Long Night of Sport” is held at the Hallbergmoos sports and leisure park. Organized by the municipality of Hallbergmoos together with local clubs in the Sportforum and VfB Hallbergmoos, this taster evening is just the thing for anyone who wants to get to know new sports and discover the right sport for them. There is something for every age group. At the end of the evening, the event is concluded in the “Schützenstüberl” with drinks and a live band.

In addition to the “Long Night of Sport” in November, the so-called “Indoor Cup” takes place in spring. This is a three-way competition consisting of curling, bowling and air rifle shooting. Anyone who wants to can register a team of four. The annual Soccer Cup is organized by the soccer team. Members of the community or other clubs can register to play soccer together. Also open to everyone is the “New Year’s Eve Run”, which was initiated by the soccer team. On December 31, members of the community can run the specified distance – each at their own pace. The main aim is to have fun and start the new year together. During the summer vacations, some departments offer a vacation program for children, which is also open to non-members. Spectators are of course always welcome to attend the games and tournaments.

Even outside the public events, it is always possible to come to taster sessions, find out more about what is on offer via the VfB Hallbergmoos website or arrange a consultation. Interested parties and new members are welcome. VfB always tries to find the right offer for everyone, be it team or individual sport. And when does sport move you?
