The police have found a new location for their IT department at the Munich Airport Business Park (MABP) in Hallbergmoos. In the Leonardo office building, 18 EPS specialists will be working on the further development of the Bavarian police’s operational protocol system (EPS-FE) in just under 500 square meters. Leonardo is one of over a dozen office complexes in the MABP and has more than 13,000 square meters of office space as well as green outdoor areas. Existing tenants include Heinz von Heiden Massivhäuser and Siemens.
The EPS software, which is now used throughout Germany and by the Austrian police, was originally developed at the Munich Airport Franz-Josef-Strauß police station. The fact that the project group is now back in the vicinity of the airport for the new development of the EPS also fits in historically. The project group will completely rebuild the EPS over a core development period of three years and then continue to develop it further. The software is used by the police and other authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS) as an information and communication system (IuK) for comprehensive support in operational situations, including preparation and follow-up.
