“We make the impossible possible” is the motto of the family business Deco-Pack, which has been a full-service provider of contract filling services of all kinds since 1981. You’ve never heard of this before? What sounds abstract at first means nothing other than that products of all kinds and consistencies are filled for other companies. For example, lubricants, sealants and adhesives or assembly pastes, which are mainly used in the chemical-technical sector and can be a real challenge to process. This is because some of these substances are very difficult to process, for example because they are highly creeping or so viscous that they literally “stick to the table”.

Deco-Pack’s customers mainly come from the automotive industry, the skilled trades, large retail chains, but also small companies and start-ups. For their orders, the contract filler always adapts its park of automated machines, fully automatic filling stations and manual filling stations to the respective customer order. You can see what this looks like in the following video:
The most important thing is customer satisfaction
Since senior managing director Gustav Decoopman set up his own family business in 1981, Deco-Pack has continued to fill special projects by hand. This is particularly worthwhile for customers who only want to have small quantities packaged. “We are very service-oriented here and focus entirely on the customer’s needs, no matter how difficult they are to implement – we handle a wide variety of orders, from the smallest quantities of 500 items to large series,” explains son and second-generation entrepreneur Sebastian Decoopman.
What sets his company apart is the speed with which orders are processed. Customer orders can be fully processed within two weeks. “If you consider that the delivery time for tubes is already six to eight weeks, that’s very good,” explains the 39-year-old Managing Director. Discretion is also important in his field of business: “We don’t make a public appearance, because we are only the service provider for our customers. Independence and autonomy are a very important part of our work and ensure the necessary neutrality.”
Environmental protection and social commitment a top priority
In 2012, Deco-Pack and its 30 employees moved into a 3,200 square meter hall complex in the east of the MABP on Messerschmittstrasse. “We are very happy with our location. It is ideally located logistically and directly connected to the world thanks to the nearby airport. We used to be tenants in Eching. However, we wanted to return to ownership in order to position ourselves better, increase our efficiency and do more to protect the environment.”
And the company has also implemented these goals with the move to Hallbergmoos: environmental awareness and social commitment are very important at Deco-Pack in various ways. Not only does the company generate more electricity with the solar systems on its roofs than it consumes on average, it also voluntarily participates in projects such as the Bavarian Environmental Pact or Rosetta@home, for which Deco-Pack provides computing capacity for research projects such as Corona or the HI virus.
Sustainability in the company itself is also important to Sebastian Decoopman, which is why he has introduced tubes made from renewable raw materials or recycled plastic as an alternative to classic PE tubes. “And what we also really enjoy is supporting young companies in making the world a better place with their innovative products. You can often still see what is being created. That something physical and tangible comes out of it that enriches the world – such as environmentally friendly lubricating greases,” says the Managing Director.
Delivery time pressure as the biggest challenge
One of the particular challenges for Deco-Pack is ensuring the fastest possible delivery time. “We are the last stop in the chain and it always has to be as fast as possible. That’s why we only select European suppliers who can deliver quickly and reliably.” With success: with an annual turnover of five million euros, the family business is doing well.
