There are few companies that have been loyal to Munich Airport Business Park for as long as Levi Ray & Shoup Inc. (LRS ®), which chose Hallbergmoos as its hub for the DACH region back in 2002. Prior to this, the US company had developed from a comparatively small computer consulting company into a global specialist in enterprise output management. Marketing Coordinator Nic Spicer uses the local anniversary to look back on experiences made locally and to give an outlook on the future of LRS® – also in Hallbergmoos.
Mrs. Spicer, Levi Ray & Shoup Inc. was founded just over 40 years ago as a computer consulting company. A lot has happened since then – especially in terms of technical development. What does this mean for LRS® and your product range?
In around four decades, LRS® has grown from a group of just three consultants to a global organization serving customers on six continents with over 900 employees worldwide. There has been similar growth in the product line: from the mainframe software VPS® to over 50 products for output management, including various products for Windows, Unix and Linux. This is why we have coined the term “Enterprise Output Management” (EOM). Simply because our products provide companies around the world with comprehensive output management and archiving options.
When did you also move to Hallbergmoos for this? And which areas are you responsible for from here?
We opened our Hallbergmoos branch around 2002. It is our central German office from which we manage technical support and sales activities for customers throughout the DACH region. We also have a branch office in Mainz.

Was that one of the reasons for choosing a location so close to the airport and in the immediate vicinity of Austria and Switzerland?
In fact, the close proximity to the airport was one of the main reasons for our decision to move to Hallbergmoos. A large part of our workforce not only travels from different locations, but our international customers also want to be visited. A good connection to the airport was therefore essential. This also applies to the infrastructure as a whole: the hotels are good, there are numerous leisure activities and restaurants in the immediate vicinity and we have held many of our customer events nearby.
What can you say about the branch office in Hallbergmoos?
Our premises here are spacious and not only include various offices and a large meeting room. We also have a kitchen and even a large roof terrace where we can organize BBQs in the summer. Between 20 and 30 colleagues form the core workforce here, but we also often welcome colleagues from other international locations to Hallbergmoos, for example for large sales meetings. Sometimes more than 50 employees work from here.
What does the immediate future hold for LRS®, both globally and here in Hallbergmoos?
We continue to work on expanding and developing our product range. The security of print documents and data security, support for users and devices connected via the Internet, further standardization of the print infrastructure, support for mobile devices – these are all trends in the industry that will continue to fuel our growth in the global market.
Ms. Spicer, thank you for this interview!
