Whether inn, guesthouse, hotel, guesthouse or bed & breakfast: from the oldest to the newest, from the most modern to the most traditional – in our blog format Hotels in Hallbergmoos we regularly present the hotels in Hallbergmoos.

Culinary delights and special service: The Mövenpick Hotel Munich Airport

For 30 years, the Mövenpick Hotel München Airport has been an integral part of the hotel industry in Hallbergmoos – a veteran of the Munich Airport Business Park. From its opening until today, it is not only the hotel that has grown. Mövenpick Hotel München Airport is characterized by individual guest service, a complementary offer with meeting rooms and a bicycle rental as well as a relaxation area with sauna and steam bath. To keep fit, there is a cooperation with the nearby fitness studio for hotel guests. The icing on the cake: the hotel in Hallbergmoos impresses guests from all over the world with its unique and varied gastronomy concept.

Airport hotel without airport

The Mövenpick Hotel München Airport in Hallbergmoos has been in existence since 1990. At the time of its opening, the hotel had around 40 rooms less. This was because the airport had not yet been completed. “It was very difficult at first, as there wasn’t much incentive for guests to travel to Hallbergmoos. We were the first airport hotel. Only without an airport,” says Ulrich Zimmermann, General Manager of the Mövenpick Hotel München Airport. The Mövenpick brand has been better known in the food & beverage sector since its creation in 1948, but the gastronomic concept was transferred to the hotel industry in 1973. The original idea: guests should be able to enjoy their stay – without fuss and at a reasonable price.

Combination packages for conferences and meetings

A lot has happened since then. During the coronavirus pandemic, Mövenpick used the time to renovate 143 rooms to bring them up to date, 99 of which include bathrooms. Today, the hotel offers more than just accommodation and culinary delights. Business people and companies like to make use of the conference facilities. Combination packages are available for weekly seminars including overnight stays. Hourly and daily rentals are also possible. “As a rule, conferences don’t last longer than five days. Demand has fallen significantly in times of working from home and digital communication. But nothing can replace personal interaction. Many of our regular guests say the same,” explains Zimmermann.

Individual service attracts guests from all over the world

Most of the guests at the Mövenpick Hotel München Airport are business customers who make a stopover here on their business trips. The Mövenpick in Hallbergmoos therefore enjoys the reputation of being a business hotel. Families and guests from all over the world also visit during the vacations. Stewardesses and pilots are also regular guests. For them, the stopover is often associated with difficult working hours. Zimmermann: “The layover and duty times of the crew members are often not compatible with the times for breakfast and dinner. With individual laundry and breakfast service, we meet their requirements with maximum comfort.” The Mövenpick Hotel Munich Airport team is responsible for the individual guest service. “Despite the coronavirus pandemic and short-time working, the core team has clearly committed to our hotel. This is the only way we can continue to maintain the quality that guests were used to from us before the pandemic,” says Zimmermann happily.

Sustainable Bavarian cuisine

A clear feel-good factor in the Hallbergmoos hotel is the gastronomic offer. Regionality and sustainability are at the top of the menu here. The hotel restaurant focuses on regional Bavarian dishes, which are particularly popular with international guests. Dairy products, fruit and vegetables as well as beer and fruit juices come from the region. Mövenpick’s service philosophy is clearly visible at breakfast. Not only the corner with vegan and vegetarian alternatives is very extensive and tailored to the needs of the guests. Allergy sufferers are also taken into consideration by the staff, who cater to their wishes.

Hallbergmoos

Visitors to the Mövenpick Hotel München Airport benefit from the good connections. Trade fair and Oktoberfest visitors are quickly in Munich and yet away from the hustle and bustle. A good highway connection and plenty of parking spaces make it easy to get here by car. Hallbergmoos also has a lot to offer: nature can be explored with rental bikes, while the flyers developed by the hotel show selected jogging routes through the countryside. Those who prefer to visit the gym can use the nearby gym free of charge with their room pass. And wellness is also taken care of. Guests at the Hallbergmoos hotel can relax in the small and cozy sauna with dormer window and then rest on loungers on the roof terrace or in the garden. “Hallbergmoos combines the advantages of the countryside with the benefits of the town,” Zimmermann states. This also goes down well with guests.

Regional, sustainable and modern: The SOLLER Business Hotel at Munich Airport

With a unique concept that combines tradition, local agriculture and modern comfort, the SOLLER Business Hotel has long since established itself in the hotel landscape in Hallbergmoos. The hotel is one of the newcomers at Munich Airport: SOLLER Business Hotel celebrated its fifth anniversary on April 1, 2024.

The private hotel industry as a success factor

As soon as you enter the owner-managed hotel, you can feel the peaceful atmosphere that prevails in the Hallbergmoos hotel. The SOLLER family attaches great importance to attention to detail, creating a modern and natural ambience. Guests can arrive and relax here, whether before or after a trip or a business meeting in the region. “As a private hotel, we are very flexible and can simply try things out. This is a must, as guests’ needs change over time,” says Martina Epple, Business Development Manager at SOLLER Business Hotel. Epple joined the team in July 2023 and is pursuing a clear vision. After the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the hotel to practically close, she made a cut and re-established the hotel. She doesn’t see the end of the line yet: “We are constantly on the lookout for useful additions that fit in with our concept. The satisfaction of our guests always comes first. But a good relationship with local companies is also important to us. They are important cooperation partners,” emphasizes Epple.

A room for every need: five categories guarantee comfortable luxury

Whether with or without family, short or long stays: 123 rooms and suites ranging in size from 23 to 83 square meters are available to guests at the SOLLER Business. The hotel in Hallbergmoos thus serves both business travelers and entire families. In the suites of various categories, guests can even expect special luxury and comfort with an exclusive roof terrace – from where they can enjoy a good view of the Bavarian mountain panorama. If you are traveling to and from Munich Airport, you can park your car safely in the hotel’s own underground car park. A cab service is available for transfers to the airport.

In-house gastronomy with seasonal and regional products

The in-house restaurant Eisvogel is known for its high quality standards in the region. Many ingredients such as potatoes, lettuce, radishes and cucumbers come from the fields of the owner family Soller. Their farm has a major influence on the menu and is firmly anchored in the hotel’s philosophy. “We pay particular attention to the sustainable cultivation of our produce and source from local producers in the surrounding area. This means that every dish is fresh and seasonal,” says Martina Epple. The honey from the bee colonies in our own gardens adds a particularly hearty and sweet note. Guests can enjoy this at the breakfast buffet.

Spa and garden: an oasis just 700m from the runway

The idyllic garden of the Hallbergmoos hotel creates the perfect and peaceful balance to hectic everyday life. In addition to the outdoor space, guests can use the wellness area with sauna and steam bath. The credo of the PRANA Spa: “Breathe in, breathe out, arrive”. A natural ambience and musical sounds underline this claim. Guests also have the option of booking massages by appointment. The spa area is also open to external visitors from Monday to Friday between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. (cost: 18 euros per person)

The wellness oasis is only 700 meters away from the runway of Munich Airport. The SOLLER Business Hotel sees the international nature of the location as a great opportunity. “For us, the Hallbergmoos location is the perfect link between Isarmoos and internationality,” says Epple. The hotel is also open and optimistic about new projects in the community, such as O2 Surftown MUC. Epple: “The discerning surfing public that will soon be visiting Hallbergmoos is always welcome here.”
