Hallbergmoos establishes itself as a top location for life sciences: Global players Samsung SDI, Sungrow and Praimera Biotech move to SKYGATE

The (bio)technology and life science cluster at Munich Airport Business Park (MABP) in the municipality of Hallbergmoos continues to attract new, international companies. Recently, three forward-looking companies – Samsung SDI Europe, solar pioneer Sungrow and the innovative Praimera Biotech AG – signed new rental agreements for the state-of-the-art lab offices in the Rock Capital Group ‘s SKYGATE. The existing cluster of the Hallbergmoos biotech hub has thus become more diversified and new future technologies have been added.

Where innovation meets quality of life

The Munich Airport Business Park in Hallbergmoos is a special success story. Located directly at Munich Airport, a vibrant hub for future technologies is developing here. “The municipality of Hallbergmoos continues to attract top companies with its more than 90 nationalities, its enormous range of leisure activities and its strategic location at the airport. We also owe this success to the investors in Hallbergmoos, such as the Rock Capital Group, who are constantly optimizing the buildings and offerings in the MABP and adapting them to the new needs of tenants and visitors,” explains Alexander Mademann, business promoter for the municipality of Hallbergmoos. One special feature is the fusion of state-of-the-art research facilities with attractive lifestyle offers such as Europe’s largest surf park, O2 SURFTOWN MUC.

Biotech hub Hallbergmoos: Global players discover the north of Munich

The most recent investments underline the growing importance of the location: Samsung SDI Europe, the global market leader for battery technology, is building its European research and development center on 1,500 square meters. The international clean-tech champion Sungrow is investing in new development laboratories for sustainable energy solutions. And Praimera Biotech AG, a promising biotech start-up, has chosen Hallbergmoos as the base for its innovative drug research.

Perfect infrastructure for life sciences and technology

The Rock Capital Group’s SKYGATE scores with a concept that is unique in the industry: fully equipped and ready-to-occupy S1 and S2 laboratory space that can be used immediately. “There is a serious shortage of specialized laboratory space in the greater Munich area. With our concept of immediately available, fully equipped S1 and S2 laboratory space, we are hitting the nerve of the times. There is a serious shortage of these specialized spaces in the greater Munich area,” emphasizes Andreas Wißmeier, Managing Director of Rock Capital Group. At the Hallbergmoos biotech hub, companies will not only find the necessary infrastructure, but also a complete ecosystem for innovation.

MABP: Where new work meets science

The SKYGATE is more than just a laboratory location. With a 212-room Radisson hotel, restaurant, canteen and the recently opened Europe-wide unique surf park O₂ SURFTOWN MUC in the neighborhood, the location offers a holistic concept for modern working environments. The flexible open-space office areas and socializing spots promote creative exchange, while fully equipped meeting rooms with state-of-the-art conference technology enable professional collaboration.

The letting of a total of 2,700 square meters of lab offices in recent weeks demonstrates the increasing demand for high-quality laboratory space in the greater Munich area. The Munich Airport Business Park is thus continuing to develop into the leading life science and (bio)technology location in the north of Munich.
