Kurt Ebert, Norbert Keck and Hans Bauer founded CSS-Express 35 years ago. A lot has changed since then. From the original business of customs clearance to logistics and IT, the company now operates as an all-round service provider. Hans Bauer retired three years ago. Since then, Norbert Keck, Kurt Ebert and his son Maxi Ebert have been the owners and managing directors of today’s all-round logistics provider CCS-Express. With its own IT systems and processes for customers, the company ensures that everything runs smoothly right through to the end customer. Success is therefore pre-programmed.
All-round logistics at express speed
Thanks to its specially developed IT systems and processes, CCS-Express can work flexibly and guarantee secure work processes. The company is no stranger to the semiconductor, replacement conductor and high-tech industries in particular, where many companies rely on the service provider’s expertise. “We have been working with many of our customers for many years. They are happy to make use of our all-round service,” explains Maxi Ebert, Managing Director at CCS-Express.
Customers often come to CCS-Express with new products. These either have to be produced and stored or shipped nationally and internationally. As an AEO-certified consignor, CCS-Express has the status of an Authorized Economic Operator – this status entitles it to concessions on security-related customs controls and simplifications in accordance with customs regulations. Logistics networks and international partner forwarders also make it easier to meet customer requirements. The time savings are immense: with the help of the qualified position of CCS-Express, supply chains from the manufacturer of a product to the end consumer run securely, smoothly and at express speed.
Logistics experience meets concentrated IT know-how
While many companies are still neglecting digitalization, CCS-Express has long covered the digital sector as a separate business area. “We have been working for customers in the e-commerce and crowdfunding sector for ten years. Start-ups and companies from the fashion sector in particular, as well as influencers, make use of our design and production services. This includes everything from programming the online store and importing goods to customs clearance and processing,” says Ebert. With the help of a qualified tax consultant, CCS-Express provides advice and planning for entire e-commerce projects on an international level.
Custom Clearance Service: The idea behind CCS-Express
Ebert explains his affinity for IT as a result of founding the company: “My father, Kurt Ebert, had previously worked in the logistics industry, but was dissatisfied. He wanted to do a lot of things better and therefore started his own business with CCS-Express. In the beginning, he was faced with the question: ‘Computer or logistics industry? The company started with pure customs clearance, but Kurt Ebert retained his interest in IT. The idea of founding CCS-Express as a pure logistics company therefore gave birth to the all-rounder concept. “Customers should receive a complete solution from production to the end consumer’s doorstep and experience a successful customer journey,” explains Maxi Ebert. This philosophy still characterizes CCS-Express today.

Gate your way into Europe with CCS-Express
Under the motto “we deliver the globe”, CCS-Express now supplies companies from all over the world and all sectors. “We help importers to organize the entire logistics for their online sales smoothly. For example, we organize seamless shipment tracking and reliable processing for departures from almost all major ports in Asia, Africa, Australia and America,” explains Ebert. For sellers from non-EU countries in particular, different customs procedures and guidelines come into play, which are complicated. As an indirect agent, CCS-Express takes over and handles the cross-border sale of goods in an uncomplicated manner.
Hallbergmoos as a place to be
CCS-Express was founded in Heimstetten due to its proximity to the old airport in Riem. In order to continue handling the air freight business, the company moved to Hallbergmoos in 1992 and has since become a permanent fixture. Ebert: “Even back then, Hallbergmoos was the place to be as a logistics company.” CCS-Express benefits from the good local infrastructure, and the proximity to the airport is a must, as the company wants to continue to grow and expand its capacities. “They want to produce more in Hallbergmoos in the future. This will also open up new opportunities for us with regard to potential customers,” says Ebert.
In future, more companies from the life sciences and manufacturing sectors are to settle in the Munich Airport Business Park. The municipality of Hallbergmoos is focusing on pioneering projects such as the laboratory-equipped HYBRID ONE Immune Office with a view of the O2 Surftown MUC surf wave, the iQ space Munich-Hallbergmoos technology campus and the steadily growing life science cluster.
